Filemanager folder name change not reflected in modules

It seems that when you change the name of a folder in the File Manager, this change is not picked up by any modules so the paths to any any file-tree selected files or folders are lost.
If you change the name back, they reappear...meaning no database updates on the original filename change were carried through to the module entries.

For instance a Flash Module drawing a swf from tl_files/site_files/myswf.swf wont draw from tl_files/ChangedFolderName/myswf.swf meaning you need to enter the module and reselect the source file.


I'm not sure if this is a bug/a request or too difficult to programme for.
Can someone verify this please with other versions and modules? (I'm using 2.8.1).

This is not a bug and is how TL has always worked. Modules and CE's are unaware of changes made to the file structure. So it is best not to change folder / file names. If this is necessary, you might want to update the path listings from a db admin tool. I haven't checked, but hopefully it stores the actual path and not an encoded string to reference it.

Yeah, i think this would be difficult to programme, and probably only possible if Typolight was storing each folder as an id number (like pages). I'll have a read through Trac and see if this has been requested before.

But mainly i'll remember not to change a folder name again!
