hi,

what means:

$this->import('Database');

After this the script dies.

Full block:
try
{
$this->import('Database');
$this->Database->listTables();
$this->Template->dbConnection = true;
}
catch (Exception $e)
{
$this->Template->dbConnection = false;
$this->Template->dbError = $e->getMessage();
$this->outputAndExit();
}

Hi Micheal, I don't know myself sorry, but the following info might help someone else answer.
What version Typolight have you installed?
Have you run the system check tool?
Is it reporting permissions as ok?
Is it recommending safe mode hack?
If so, have you done Safe Mode Hack?

And just to understand correctly, you have managed to set a new Install Tool password, and enter an Encryption Key... then it stalls. Yes?

what means:
$this->import('Database');

This is Typolight calling the database object, to test whether you have a database connection.

cheers, murray.

Have you run the system check tool?

no it isn´t
If so, have you done Safe Mode Hack?

No.

Meanwhile we tried IIS 7 on 2k8 Web-Server. Same issue.

Hi Ben,
hi ramjet,

thanx for all your hyperlinks, we already found all these topics and checked them.

Noone of them depends on our problem:

- eAccelerator isn´t installed
- we tried severel PHP versions, actually it´s 5.3
- if the problem is that I need to put in '127.0.0.1' for database host I would immediately stop working with TL
- I changed this: $GLOBALS['TL_CONFIG']['websitePath'] = 'd:/www/typolighttest'; now I have new error:
Die aufgerufene Website leitet die Anfrage so um, dass sie nie beendet werden kann.

google-translation:
The site you're visiting forwards the request so that it can never be finished.

So, I think we will stop trying. If TL won´t give us a chance, we won´t either.

Thanx a lot

At this point of the install process, the db host does not come into play. When it does, you will simply enter whatever the host is, but it does not have to be 127...

The website path would actually be the subfolder only. So if it were on a web server accessible in any browser at www.domain.tld/path, then the value would be "path/" I believe.

A few other things to try:
- turn on error reporting: http://www.typolight.org/faq-reader/ite ... light.html
- check your sever log for any error messages
- enable SMH, just to see if this resolves things: http://www.typolight.org/faq-reader/ite ... itten.html

I think you're close, so hopefully you will not give up just yet.

Hi Ben,

- turn on error reporting

First thing we turned on a week ago

- check your sever log for any error messages

Can´t find any events fired from IIS.
No errors in PHP error log

- enable SMH, just to see if this resolves things

Installed Feature 'FTP' and created User, enabled SMH... no differences.
By the way, all files are 'writable'
